First Presbyterian Preschool is seeking a qualified, energetic, and nurturing teacher to join our nationally accredited early childhood program. We pride ourselves on a low student-to-teacher ratio, a collaborative team environment, and a commitment to fostering joyful, developmentally appropriate learning experiences for children ages 2–5.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement creative, engaging lesson plans rooted in developmentally appropriate practice
- Observe and support each child's social, emotional, and cognitive development
- Encourage cooperation, problem-solving, and conflict resolution among peers
- Foster artistic, practical, and critical thinking skills through hands-on activities
- Track developmental progress and communicate daily with families
- Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming classroom environment
- Collaborate with colleagues and attend weekly/monthly planning meetings
- Complete a minimum of 25 hours of continuing education annually
- Ensure compliance with all licensing and health & safety standards
What We’re Looking For
- Completion of Florida DCF 45-hour mandated training
- 3-5 years of experience in a preschool or early childhood setting
- Strong communication and instructional skills
- Friendly, calm, and dependable personality with a practical mindset
- Ability to build strong relationships with children and families
Compensation & Schedule
This is a part-time position, ranging from 22 to 30 hours per week. Our pay structure includes two rates based on responsibilities:

- $18–$25/hour for core morning teaching hours, Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM (20 hours per week)
- $18/hour for additional responsibilities, including planning time, staff meetings, Lunch Bunch, enrichment programming, and preparing for conferences and Brightwheel messaging
